Hello, universe! Will I be seeing you this weekend at the Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Conference in Downtown LA? There are just a handful of tickets left – and tickets are heavily discounted until tonight. Register as a Blogger and get $125 OFF the rate! Use the code: lastcall.
Last but not least, in early May, I’ll be on a panel with other pros, sharing tips on getting started in social media for business owners. This workshop is sponsored by Wix, and it is only open to Wix members in the So Cal area. (Contact your Wix rep if you are interested in attending.)
Please contact me if you need information on any of these events or contact the event organizers directly!
Well, hello all! Sorry for the not-so-daily posts. I’ve been writing on my personal blog as well as SMCLA’s blog, so this poor space gets the shaft. Alas, here I am with a few links of my speaking opp at Erik Deutch’s social media course – UCLA X425.
A big thank you goes out to the students of UCLA x425 and to Erik Deutsch for inviting me back to speak.
Check out the student blog posts of my night (my co-panelist was Melissa Robinson of Weber Shandwick):
The UCLA Extension speaking engagement came and went, and I am just now writing about it. I’d like to thank Erik Deutsch for inviting me to speak about community management in his UCLA X425 class “Social Media Best Practices for Communications Professionals.” My co-speaker was none other than Dan Portnoy – the man, the myth, the expert. If you’re not following Dan, you’d best change that now.
Erik’s easy-going manner and set-up for the class made for a very comfortable environment to just talk about engagement, promotions, client case studies, and measurements. The students ranged from PR pros to neighborhood council volunteers to small business folks. I come with a nonprofit background, and I learned a lot from Dan and his experiences with nonprofit social media management. If you run a nonprofit, you might want to take a meeting with Dan about social media engagement for nonprofits.
Big thank yous go out to Erik, the students, and Dan for making that evening educational, enjoyable and interactive. Looking forward to continuing to connect with you all!
